About the Project
VISION
Our vision is optimal wound care for all Ontarians. The Project will strive to ensure that all interested health care providers in Ontario have the knowledge and support they need to manage patients with wounds safely and effectively.
EVALUATION
The Evaluation Committee, led by Queen’s University, are experts in research, education, knowledge translation, and inter-professional team development that provide direction to the Project Team.
FUNDING AND ACCOUNTABILITY
Project ECHO Skin and Wound is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and provides financial management, project oversight and outcomes monitoring on a regular, mutually agreed-upon basis.

Project ECHO® Ontario Skin and Wound Care focuses on enhancing the knowledge and skills of healthcare providers in managing patients with wounds safely and effectively. Our program aims to empower Ontario-based healthcare professionals through education and collaborative learning.
We are dedicated to connecting expert teams at academic hubs with primary care providers. By focusing on continuing education and community building, we aim to create a strong network of healthcare professionals in Ontario.
Continuing Education
Empowering Healthcare Professionals
Our program enables participants to earn Continuing Medical Education credits and other educational certifications. By linking participants with specialized courses, we ensure continuous professional development and skill enhancement.
Community Support
Enhancing Engagement
Our programs offer comprehensive support tools, enablers, and session summaries to aid in linking new knowledge to practice effectively. By evaluating provider satisfaction and self-efficacy, we aim to continuously improve care standards and practice outcomes.
Professional Networking
Building Connections
We connect interested healthcare providers with specialized educational courses, fostering networking opportunities and knowledge exchange. By enhancing diagnostic and management knowledge, we aim to elevate standards of wound care in Ontario.
Capacity Building
Advancing Competency
We focus on capacity building initiatives that enhance diagnostic and management skills among primary care providers. By enabling participants to collect CME credits and engage in professional development opportunities, we strive to elevate wound care practices to an advanced level.
Our Partners
WoundPedia, Queen’s University, and the Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Canada (NSWOCC) represent the Project ECHO Ontario Skin and Wound Care Hub. Based on a knowledge transfer and guided practice model, Project ECHO links expert inter-professional teams at an academic hub with primary care providers in their communities. Our vision is optimal wound care for all Ontarians. Our project goal is that all interested health care providers in Ontario have the knowledge and support they need to manage patients with wounds safely and effectively.
